It all began in 1972, with two brothers Ron & Tom Ward, a rusted old pick-up truck and a few hundred dollars in tools. In the 1970's C&L Ward Brothers installed window and siding materials throughout Mid-Michigan, gaining the reputation for having "top quality workmanship at an affordable price". In 1977 the company opened its first store on Lippincott Rd. in Davison. After outgrowing this location, the Davison store was relocated to its present location on Lapeer Rd in 1981.
Aside from moving locations in 1981, an important decision was made to begin selling America's #1 window, Andersen. Just selling Andersen windows wasn't enough, the company decided to build a beautiful interactive showroom that would allow its customers to see and feel these fine windows. Yet they were still able to guarantee the lowest prices by purchasing pre-sold truckloads of Andersen Windows direct from the factory at volume discounts. Within 10 years, C&L Ward Brothers had become the premier "Andersen Window Center" in Michigan.
In a continued commitment to its customers, C&L Ward Brothers began inventorying Andersen Windows in 1991. This provided their customers with immediate access to the largest inventory of Andersen windows in the Midwest. The company's philosophy was simple: thousands of sizes and styles of Andersen Windows in-stock at the guaranteed lowest price.
In 1995, during the residential construction boom of the 90's, the company added a dedicated service department to maintain the high level of customer satisfaction it is still known for today. Soon following, C&L Ward acquired its second location in Kawkawlin, MI in 1999. This allowed them to better serve the communities of Saginaw, Midland and Bay City.
After 32-years of exceptional leadership, Ron & Tom Ward turned over the day-to-day management of C&L Ward to their sons Patrick, Eric, Ryan & Matt Ward in 2004. They remain involved in the company and continue to serve as active shareholders to this day.
Noticing an increased consumer demand for vintage Andersen window & door parts, C&L Ward opened an e-commerce division specializing exclusively in window parts in 2007. Today, WindowParts.com ships over 15,000 orders annually to residents across the United States and has grown to become the largest Andersen parts dealer in the country.
In January 2009, C&L Ward opened its third showroom at the Meridian Mall in Okemos, Mi. This has allowed them to effectivley serve the Greater Lansing market with their products and installation services.
To further increase it's ability to properly serve homeowners in the Detroit Metro market, a fourth location will be opened in Novi at the Shops of Gateway Village in June 2010.
